To accomplish this we need our parents to model emotional intelligence in the home so the positive behavior comes to school with the child.

BOSS Breezers Mini Assemblies are classroom visits aimed at setting the tone using our (TSEL) IYCU BOSS Tools. These visits provide an opportunity to introduce one or more BOSS Tools that help foster a positive classroom culture and establish or enhance classroom norms. Everyone is a representative of their own brand. How can we take responsibility for our actions to improve both our individual and collective brands?

Through our engaging interactive mini-assemblies centered on accountability and motivation, we offer strategies to cultivate empathy, belonging, and a better learning environment. This allows teachers to focus on instruction rather than constantly addressing disruptions.

The BOSS Star program is an advanced leadership and mentorship initiative designed for high school students (grades 9–12) to deepen their mastery of social-emotional learning (SEL) tools while empowering them to guide and support younger peers. Building on the foundation of the MAP Star program, BOSS Star equips upper-grade students with advanced strategies in behavioral ownership, conflict resolution, and leadership to foster positive school climates and model prosocial behaviors.

A BOSS Star is a student who has completed training in:
Behavioral Ownership & Accountability (Advanced self-regulation, decision-making, and responsibility)
Outreach & Leadership (Mentorship skills, peer mediation, and collaborative problem-solving)
Social-Emotional Advocacy (Guiding others in self-awareness, empathy, and resilience)
Service to Community (Applying SEL tools to support younger students and address behavioral challenges)

BOSS Star participants not only refine their own SEL competencies but also serve as role models and mentors for younger students (e.g., elementary or middle school peers).
They collaborate with school staff to facilitate activities, mediate conflicts, and create inclusive environments, reinforcing the SEL principles learned in the MAP Star program.

Upon completion, students earn the distinguished BOSS Star certification, recognizing their leadership, growth, and commitment to fostering a culture of respect and emotional intelligence within their school community.
